This past weekend was the annual Geason Reunion where everyone gathers from near and far. The Geason Reunion tradition started back in 1991 on the front lawn at our old house on Carnelian Lane in Eden Prairie .
We started by having two teams, the Kens and the Marions, with the team captains being Grandma and Grandpa. The teams compete in lawn games for the BIG shiny trophy. The teams have stayed the same over the years, so they tend to get just a little competitive with each other! The lawn games have evolved and now we have some favorites that come back every year.
It can be quite a crazy get together at times, but is always so much fun. The family continues to grow by marriage and little ones. Here is how it stands if I have my count correct:
1 Grandma Marion
1 Grandpa Ken
21 Aunts and Uncles
31 Grandkids
11 Great Grandkids
65 Total
Now that I am a mother myself I can’t even imagine having 11 kids. I think Grandma Geason is the sweetest and most soft spoken woman you will ever meet. This may have been her saving grace in a loud household full of kids, because it is hard for me to believe she has a stern bone in her body! I'm sure Grandpa Geason was quite good at keeping everyone in line anyways! We are so blessed to have such a wonderful family and I am so very proud to be a Geason girl. :)
